I'm referring to Pro Preferred, Primo, A2000, A2k, Pro Limited, etc. The HIGH END gloves. What really drew my interest to this glove is the fact that it is a unique looking glove and nobody uses Spalding gloves anymore. I went ahead and bought the Spalding Pro Select 42001 because I wanted to give Spalding a shot. It has been quite a while since they've come out with anything decent. I called Spalding and they informed me that this model (42-001) and the one with Robinson Cano's name on it (42-001RC) are identical patterns with the same exact leather, etc. I got the one w/o his name embroidered on it because I really don't care for him, I hate the Yankees, and I don't want someone else's name on my glove. Its a very well made glove, leather is genuine, perfect for middle infielders, fingers feel great in glove (two in the pink), when you field the ball is feels great! By far this is the best glove spalding has ever made. The only con for me is that I feel the glove isn't 11 1/2 it feels more like 11 or 11 1/4. I've had had many gloves in my life and as a player/college coach I'd say its a competitive glove. It isn't a pro preferred nor A2000 but it does get the job done and it isn't too far behind those glove but other than that I do recommend this glove for competitive play of baseball. 1 of 5 people found the following review helpful Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Spalding Pro Select Open Back Fielding Glove (Sports) kind of overpriced. extremely stiff . as good as the a2000 1786 model.if your looking for a good glove for 2nd base or shortstop get the a2000 or this one |
