Mad Rock Triple Mad Pad (Black)

Product Description

Warn your friends in the crag to stand back before you open the Triple Mad Pad. At 44" x 70" this pad is the biggest on the market. Just like the regular Mad Pad, five inches of open and closed foam cushions your drop, but your aim can be slightly off 'cause there's plenty of landing space. You and your friends can lean back and enjoy a civilized lunch break on the full sized lounge bench. When the climbing's done it's the perfect full mattress to throw in the back of your ride for a night of stargazing or catching z's before your alpine start.

  • Closed Size: 24" x 44" x 15"
  • Open Size: 72" x 44" x 5"

When I was shopping for a pad, I didn't know if I really wanted to spend the extra money on a bigger pad, nor did I know if I wanted to lug around a bigger pad. I bought this pad anyway and I definitely do not regret it. You don't really notice the extra weight especially with the comfy shoulder and waist straps and once you use the big pad you won't ever want to go back to the little ones. Also, with the Triple Mad Pad you get way more square footage per dollar than if you go with the Black Diamond Mondo, for example, or comparable pads from other leading brands. Even though it's cheaper than the competitors, quality is certainly not sacrificed. Some people who own Mad Pads say that they are too firm, but I rather like the feel of it compared to the Black Diamond and Metolius lines. The pad is also a little thicker than pads of other makes. Its firmness and thickness definitely give you more peace of mind when tackling problems hanging over sketchy terrain. The thing is big... Read more
